Art Aia – Creative residencies in the Performing arts is a cultural project tied to theater\dance\ music and performance art in which is provided to some selected artist and theater companies the logistical support in order to enable the realization of their shows. The creative performing arts residency generally last two or three weeks, planned according to the needs of the artists and the calendar of activities of Art Aia and take place from April to September. The concept of creative residency is not only a care for the hospitality and the production of the artists, who can find the space, time, and resources to devote themselves completely to their work but also allows companies to immerse themselves in a natural peaceful inspirational context set in the silence of the unspoiled countryside. In other words, the creative process is developed in a slow and reflective mode as opposed to the frantic chase that characterizes our times.The artists can interact with the physical nature of the environment in a relaxed atmosphere. Individual artists or groups can make a request to work on the initial phase of new artistic projects, without the obligation to submit the results to the public or to work on the final phase of new artistic projects, with the opportunity to present the result in a preview in front of the audience. Among the applicants, the young artists will have priority, but will not be excluded a priori demands from mature or established artists. During the residency, people can reside at Art Aia and use the space and the equipment available in the center. Some artistic residencies will also evolve into real productions. The creative residency Art Aia also aims to a social and cultural growth of the local community, amalgamating with the needs and potential of the town of Sesto al Reghena and the Province of Pordenone. These residences also promote theater research and decongest the offer of the big cities developing the creativity of the province and of the rural areas. In the last five years, Art Aia has hosted several artists and groups for periods of work and rehearsals involving several companies such as Quantum Change theater, Calibro 2 and Mimo Teatro Movimento. The creative residencies in the performing arts represent a potential for renewal of the Italian performing art system . Art Aia works not only on a local and national level but expands international scenarios and ways of organizing performing arts. For instance, it is scheduled a creative residence of the Dutch company Transversal Theater aimed to the staging of a play ( Railroad) with a social and historical theme played by international actors of the ” Europeanpolytheater “.
Film and video art.
The Film creative residencies are aimed to promote the writing, creation and post-production of audiovisual materials such as documentaries, short films, feature films.The crews involved in the projects will stay at the Guest Art Aia and work to their project within the several location of Art Aia depending on their needs.For any outdoor shooting, they can use the garden and the surrounding open spaces between the lands dear to Pasolini . . In recent years at Art Aia occurred several creative residencies related to the audiovisual resulted in documentaries and short films that have seen players also coming from the Friulian countryside and the town of Sesto al Reghena. As for the creative residencies in the Performing arts, the Film residency is a cultural project linked to the audiovisual and the territory aimed at increasing local creativity through comparison with professionals both nationally and internationally. Art Aia is an opportunity for audiovisual artists to find a place where they can create in a serene way, supported by conditions such as hospitality and appropriate technical assistance, exchanges of thought, human relationships, but also it is an opportunity to produce audiovisual material following a logic released from the pressures and constraints of the institutional systems of art and culture .
Organic and Experimental Art
The Organic art creative residency consists of a residency program in the Friuli countryside hosting international artists so that they can conduct their own research conceiving and realizing an art project, interacting with a specific context and with its rural and agricultural areas.These residencies promote research, production, dialogue, and dissemination of contemporary art, through an innovative and experimental art project contextualize in unconventional spaces also by using organic material and getting inspiration from nature.
Healing art and Eco-Therapy
The healing arts are creative practices that promote healing, wellness, and personal change. Eco-therapy refers to healing and growth nurtured by healthy interaction with the earth. These residencies combine artistic expression with psychological awareness and communication. Healing art and Eco-Therapy residencies can be practiced with the guidance of a teacher or therapist, but can also be self-taught during your staying at our center throughout practices like meditation and spirituality that can bring us into a state of deep relaxation feeling connected with nature or cooking and gardening that can stimulate our senses, relax the mind and bring a deep sense of satisfaction. This kind of residency is designed on your own to gain enrichment, self-awareness, and pleasure.
