The volume “Pier Paolo Pasolini. Poesie-Bàsné” was published in Czech Republic. It represent the first and largest selection taken from Pasolini’s poetic work, which includes verses he wrote in the Friulian dialect, the language of his beloved mother, such as Poesie a Casarsa from 1942. The translation was edited by Alice Flemrová and Tomáš Matrast who was also responsible for choosing the poems and of writing the introduction to the volume. Of particular interest is the autobiographical poem entitled Il poeta delle ceneri / Básník popela, published in Italy only in 1980, after Pasolini’s death, where the poet reveals the secret truths about political and economic power and the well-founded danger of the decomposition of modern and postmodern society.
